That's what this Dominican stylist said as she started rollersetting my hair last Saturday. I was six weeks post when I went there so you already know the new growth needed to be tamed. I didn't go to my usual salon because this one was right next to my job. I came in for a wash and set and they directed me to the shampooing station. This nice lady washed my hair with Nexxus Therappe (I told you it's good!) and conditioned it with what I believe was Nexxus Humectress. I then was sent to the stylist who put Lacio Lacio in my hair. She put the rollers in my hair, spritzed it with some thermal protection spray, and put me under the dryer for 45 minutes. I was in LOVE with my hair! It grew!

Vinegar neutralizes lye. Yessir, it does. It makes perfect sense to me since the salon I go to uses neutralizing shampoos mixed with vinegar. The hairdresser shampoos my hair with a shampoo mixed with distilled vinegar. No wonder I don't get burns... Anyway, vinegar is a miracle product and can even restore the pH balance of skin. ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) is what I use in my shampoo when I need to get rid of the product build up. Also, another weird thing: it's a natural cure for yeast infections when diluted properly. Cool huh?

Wooow is what I said when I saw this picture. It's not her fault, it's the stress and demand of her career in my opinion. This just goes to show you that weave/lacefronts aren't the best things for your hair. I'm not saying that your hair will fall out if you wear weave/lacefronts, but just be careful and take care of your hair.

I thought putting a diagram up would help you guys better understand hair growth and natural shedding. We all go through these phases. Did you ever notice that your hair grows faster some years while other years it feels like it's not growing at all? Well, this diagram helps give you a visual on why.

The hair phases

The anagen is the growth phase; the catagen is the intermediate phase; and the telogen is the resting or shedding phase.

Hair growth cycle times
The anagen phase lasts about 3 years (1000 days according to P&G) but can last up to 10 years for some. The catagen phase can last 10 to 21 days. And the telogen phase lasts up to 3 months.
