Ok, let's get right down to business. I was on BHM today and a newbie was confused on how to do the "baggy" method, so I decided to just make a quick tutorial on the matter. So... what is the baggy method? Baggying is when you moisturize your hair and/or ends, seal it with oil, and then apply a plastic bag over. This method is very good because it locks in moisture which is a must for growth and maintaining growth. It's an extremely easy thing to do and you can even wear phony ponies/buns over your hair!

Step 1: Prepping
Apply about a dime size amount of your favorite moisturizer to your hand. I use S-Curl since it's so damn good. You can use anything under the sun. Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Lotion was a favorite of mine 'til I fell for S-Curl. You can also use The Best Damn Hairspray Period (in Hair Products) or the glycerine/water mix.

Step 2: Application
Apply the moisturizer onto hair, concentrating on the ends. I seperate my hair into two pigtails (ponies, whatever). I then apply either coconut oil or almond oil for sealing. Sealing is absolutely important! It helps the moisture stay in place since oil is made up of larger molecules than moisturizers.

Step 3: Baggying
I braid the hair loosely and apply a small sandwich bag over. I then tie it with an elastic to keep it secure. I do the same with the other side and cover my whole head with a satin bonnet.

Could I soak all of my hair and wear a plastic cap or is the risk big enough to stop my hairgrowth by clogging the pores ?

Is the S-curl moisturizer thick or "watery"? .

What exactly does covering your with a plastic cap or nag after the moisturizing/sealing process do? oh and what is a phony-pony (im sorry...so much questions)

The plastic cap is used to help the moisturizing agents in the moisturizer penetrate the individual hair strands better. Kinda like what happens when you deep condition.

Almost forgot to answer that phony-pony question... It's just a name for a ponytail extension. Like the drawstring ponytails you buy at the beauty supply store.

Would you say that Nexxus "Humectruss Luxe" is a good moisterizer?

Wow, it sounds great! I think I might have to pick it up. I think it would make a great moisturizer.

After you baggy at night, what do you usually do in the morning? Oh and can you baggy every night?

I hardly baggy anymore. It doesn't agree with my hair. You can baggy every other night or when your hair needs the extra moisture.

i was going to try this last night, but instead of baggying, i moisturized and then put my bb's grease over it and tied my hair up with a satin scarf (along with combing my hair out before tying it up) and my hair feels great! i'm actually going to style it today in something other than a ponytail because it feels so good!
