Towels can actually cause split ends! How? By towel drying of course. Towel drying the hair causes a lot of friction which can lead to split ends. Make sure that you only blot excess water out. The hair will dry just fine without towel drying. If need be, use a t-shirt or microfiber towel to blot the water out. Both absorb more water, lessening drying time.

I haven't used a towel to dry my hair for months. I cut up and old t-shirt and have been pleased with the results... no more snap, crackle, and pop as my hair would break when using a towel.

It also helps your hair dryer smoother as well.
