Hey, lovelies! My mother and I have always had a somewhat estranged relationship at times, but we've become a lot closer since her pregnancy. She's always asking what she should use in her hair, what temperature the flat iron should be, and even to wrap her hair. I could go on! Anyway, I always wanted to know from you...

  • Do you help your mother (or mother figure) with her hair?
  • Has her hair improved since you started helping?
My mother's hair has improved tenfold since I started helping her out. She actually started doing at-home relaxers instead of going to the salon.

great topic!
My mother won't let me help her with hair questions. She has her routine and won't change anything...

I second Amina. My mom is stuck in her ways and I try to offer advice when I can. She largely prefers to do what she wants and frankly, that's fine. Whenever she has questions, I always share what I know. I have just learned to put no pressure on her.

Now, my 4 year old daughter on the other hand, has experienced hair growth since I switched up her routine. But, now, she tells me to stop putting all that "stuff" in her hair. lol!

i helped my mom .. she used to put a texturizer in her hair as soon as she got any type of nap in her hair .. She is now going on 3 months i believe ..she used to put things with mineral oil , or alchohol on her hair .Now she uses moisturizers. She is still stubborn abotu some things but I noticed that her hair is definately improving.

I am mother's hair keeper. I've been doing my mom's hair for about 5 years now and what a turn around. She won't let anyone else touch her hair because she knows she will not hear the end of it, should they jack it up; which has happened a couple times in the past. Now she is joining me on a natural hair journey and the hot temps in FL this should be really interesting for her. :)

My mom is like a dolls head. She doesn't have much hair and she doesn't care what we do with it. So I have been helping her with her hair, but she'll only let me if I do everything. But lately, since I'm away at college, shes been doing her hair herself, and it looks good.

Goes to show, your hair grows its best when you put in the work for it.
