Your name/username:
Aimee' Griles aka Aims

Where are you from?
Born and raised in America's Paradise b.k.a St.Croix, U.S.Virgin Islands but have travelled and lived extensively stateside and overseas and have hair-stories for everywhere I've lived.

How long have you been Relaxed?
First time around was from 1993-1998, the I grew out my relaxer and went au Naturel from 1999-2002, and then relaxing since then so about 7 years this time around.

Tell us your hair story. Why did you decide to relax?
Seriously after I grew out my hair and was natural I loved it. The thickness, the complements the different styles I could rock. But then sometimes it was just bothersome, all that hair! The thickness! I was tinkering with the idea of relaxing again in '02 but didn't really think I would do it until I saw Kent Master's in Glen Lewis' "Dont You Forget" video and it was over after that! I was in deep lust, like, want and admiration of her hair. So a few weeks later I went back to be being a relaxed chica.

What do you like most about being Relaxed?
The thing I like best about being relaxed is wearing my hair stick straight and just the convenience of it. Some days I'm super duper straight, other days it wash and wear hair for me. It just suits me at this point in my life. And believe it or not when I was natural I attracted a different type of man than I do with a perm..which is cool but you know how that goes sometimes.

What technique has helped you the most?
Definitely DC'ing and pre-pooing and I also take Biotin and B-complex supplements.

Your advice to the readers:
Change doesn't happen overnite, take small steps to achieve your goal , be it in haircare technique, diet & exercise and you will get there. Everything worth having requires hard work, but the end results: healthy, shiny beautiful hair are totally worth it.

Great interview! I love her bun in the first pic. I can't get my hair to lay like that :(

I like it. As long as you process properly and take care of it. It's cool...
