For work today, I decided to do something a little different. Usually I just put my hair in a ponytail and call it a day, but honestly, that gets boring after a while. I decided to attempt the faux bob, a protective style that mimics a short bob. I learned it years ago from a member on a forum I belong to, but never did it. How do you get this look? Here's the step-by-step:

  • 1. Moisturize the hair.
  • 2. Hold the hair as if you were going to do a low ponytail and fold the ends under.
  • 3. Secure with a bobby pin.

This look is easy to do and looks even better if you have layers. Try it today and let me know how it came out! Click the picture for a better view.

Hi I always wear my hair like that, but I never knew that the name is faux bob, I just lovet b/c if I have to wear my hair down during the week still looking great.

i love it!! you pinned the hair well, and if I didn't know how long your hair actually is, i would think you actually have a bob!

I used to do this back in the day when I would get my hair done & needed to keep the hair off of my neck so I wouldn't sweat it out...lol (Track practice/Gym).

It's better than a Pony/Bun because you don't get the crinkles & if you roll it good; when you take it down your hair will be curly. ;^D

Smart idea as a protective style.

Cute look! I used to do this with my hair back in the day. I was just thinking about a way to protect my ends without having to wear a boring bun everyday. Thanks!
